Snakebite Hoops with Opals

$180.00

A vicious, biting serpent in the form of an everyday hoop earring. Small hoop earrings in the form of a small vicious, biting serpent. I carved this deeply textured snake out of jeweler's wax, and then I used silver sheet to create bezels for a pair of long oval opal doublets. I soldered the bezels to the hoops so they swing but cannot come off the hoops, set the opals, oxidized the earrings, and then satin brushed the surface to bring out all the details.

Details:
They are 1/16" or 2mm wide across their scaly body, and 1/2' diameter or 1cm across the hoop. The tail curls around and tucks itself discretely behind the wearer's earlobe.

The opal doublets are 1/2" long and 1/16" wide . They are bright blue with some white lines and flecked with bright green opalescence, and the bezels have closed backs.

Oxidized and brushed sterling silver, with a sterling silver post and sterling silver earring back.

Made by hand in Brooklyn and ships gift boxed. The paper lining in the gift box may be different than what is pictured, but it will be just as pretty.

Oxidized Silver

For my oxidized sterling silver pieces, I recommend using a silver polishing cloth to keep your jewelry bright.

I do NOT recommend a jewelry cleaning salvation like Tarn-x or the aluminum foil and baking soda method because it will remove all go the oxidization from your piece.

Gold

For my gold pieces, a silver polishing cloth will work as well.
