Full Moon Ring

I hand carved this full moon out of jeweler's wax, consulting a map of the moon as I went to make it as accurate and detailed as I could. When that was finished, I carved a ring shank out of jeweler's was to go with it. I cast them in sterling silver, and soldered them together, and then I oxidized the ring to make it a rich black color. The bright side has had the oxidization brushed away to bring out the seas of the moon, and the dark side is a rich, silky black. It is a large ring, but it sits low on your hand, so it is quite comfortable to wear.

The moon is slightly domed, and it measures 1 1/8" or 27mm wide, and is about 3/8"/ 4mm thick at its thickest, tapering to 1/16" 1mm at the edges.

This ring measures as a size 7, but fits like a size 7 3/4-8 because of the space between the top of the ring shank and the bottom of the moon. I hope to be able to offer additional ring sizes in the future, feel free to inquire about custom sizes.

Made by hand in Brooklyn and ships gift boxed. The paper lining in the gift box may be different than what is pictured, but it will be just as pretty.

There are several ways to go about finding your ring size:

- You can go to a jeweler, almost any jewelry shop will measure your finger for you.

- Bring a ring that fits to a jeweler to be measured.

- Printable ring size guides are a great DIY solution.

- Order a ring sizer kit. They are relatively inexpensive, and last forever! There are ones for measuring your finger, and ones that have a tool for measuring rings, and ones that come with both.

Oxidized Silver

For my oxidized sterling silver pieces, I recommend using a silver polishing cloth to keep your jewelry bright.

I do NOT recommend a jewelry cleaning salvation like Tarn-x or the aluminum foil and baking soda method because it will remove all go the oxidization from your piece.

For my gold pieces, a silver polishing cloth will work as well.
